LAUREN’S CAMPERVAN EXPERIENCE
Back in October of 2024, Lauren met her ticket to adventure in the shape of a grey Volkswagen Transporter Campervan (LWB). In their first year, Lauren and Charli (Lauren’s van) travelled 14 trips together, with more in the years to follow. Lauren says she’s been “enjoying getting away in [her] van as often as [she] can.”
“I love how compact it is, easy to drive and has all the comforts of a tiny house – well, to me it does. I hope to get many years of travelling out of it,” Lauren told us.

HOLIDAY HIGHLIGHTS: CAMPERVAN EXPERIENCES
Most recently, Lauren and Charli explored Bright and Batemans Bay for a total of 17 days. While both destinations delivered stunning scenery, Lauren admits her favourite getaway so far has been Echuca.
“Great views, peaceful, and so much to see. It’s a lovely scenic drive from West Gippsland,” she explained, describing what makes Echuca stand out.
For Lauren, every campervan trip delivers something special. She added that all her getaways are “really good and so relaxing.” This makes Achtung Camper an ideal choice for easy, adventurous travel across Australia.
LAUREN’S FAVOURITE CAMPERVAN FEATURES
- Sirocco Fan

By far, Lauren’s favourite feature in her VW Transporter is the Sirocco Fan.
Travelling to Echuca means facing some serious heat, but as Lauren put it, “that fan saved the day”.
“I left [the fan] going all night, and the cool breeze it created was good. It never felt too hot to sleep,” she said, adding that the fan has been a reliable alternative to air conditioning. Explaining that the heat is “certainly not going to stop [her] from going to Cairns”.
- Sink
Although Lauren typically uses camp kitchen facilities for dishes, she found that her sink was a quick fix for cleaning up and the occasional coffee cup. Labelling it a “great to have” edition in your van.

LAUREN AND CHARLI’S ADVENTURE
Lauren loves taking every opportunity to hit the road with Charli. Unfortunately, her only delay is occasionally pet-sitting for her son.
“This puts me on the back burner for a while, and I get itchy feet to get away again,” she said.
But when she can get away, Charli becomes a topic of interest for fellow travellers,
“There is always someone who comes over and asks questions about my van, and even asks for a tour,” Lauren said. She’s always happy to answer their questions and pass on her campervan wisdom.
