Smooth Driving: Here Are Achtung Camper’s Suspension Options

It is beyond important to us at Achtung Camper that we add value to our vans. Not only are you able to choose upholstery, coordinated pop-tops and coloured bench trim, but you can select a suspension kit and underbody protection to suit your adventures. In this blog we look at the suspension options at Achtung Camper.

The truth is you will not notice the difference on a sealed road, but once you venture off-road then suspension capabilities will strike a chord. However, it all comes down to personal preference.

“There are some must-haves (or nice to have) like the Seikel RockSlider Side Sill Protection if you go off-road,” says Achtung Camper co-owner, Ronny Probandt. “If you get stuck on a rock, then this will prevent most damages to the sill.”

Achtung Camper offer various kits to choose from to optimise your suspension and protection. There are two Volkswagen factory-fitted suspension options, and they are:

1BJ Heavy Duty Suspension

  • Reinforced version of the standard springs
  • Koni dampers for more robust usage
  • Suitable for semi-regular travel or unsealed roads
  • Van raised 20mm

1BB Rough Road Suspension

  • Alternate set of springs
  • Koni dampers for more robust usage
  • Suitable for regular travel or unsealed roads
  • Van raised 20mm

The aftermarket options that are currently available are:
