Hiking in winter is beautiful, when the weather becomes colder the forests start to sing! Here in Victoria we have the lovely Otway National park with many lovely trails to choose from. These are our top 5:
1.Currawong Falls Track – This track is moderate in difficulty and takes you along the lovely coastal town of Aireys Inlet. It is a 3-hour hike but is also popular with mountain bikers.
2. Phantom Falls – This moderate track only takes 1 hour to hike and will take you past the Great Ocean Road town of Lorne.
3. Three Falls Circuit – This trail takes you past three beautiful waterfalls, with a completion time of 2 and a half hours it is a moderately challenging walk.
4. Kalimna Falls – This trail is great for hiking and walking; with a moderate difficulty it is great for solitude and enjoying the lovely scenery.
5. Hopetoun Falls walk – A 15-minute walk down to the base of the waterfall. This trail is great for short easy walks or with kids in tow.
